I study the overall well-being of pk-12 teachers through the lens of social and emotional learning (SEL) and how SEL supports can influence teacher retention. Social and emotional learning is recognized as an integral element of education, yet focus has been limited on the role that SEL can play in teacher education.  As we face a paradigm shift in pk-12 education, with remote learning and constant unknowns, teachers’ social and emotional needs must be front and center of the conversation.
