Welcome!

I am a professor of education and experienced K-12 teacher interested in equity, inclusion, special education, and social and emotional learning. I am also the co-founder of A Sustainable Village, Manhattan’s only zero-waste store and refillery.

I hold a Doctorate of Education from St. John’s University, a Master of Education from Hunter College, a Master of Public Administration from NYU, and a Bachelor of Management from Tulane University.

Prior to education, I spent ten years in finance, where I traded bonds, worked for community development financial institutions, and conducted micro-finance work in Africa.

I am a certified yoga teacher, soul surfer, theater lover and avid traveler. Originally from Northern California, I live in Manhattan (for over 20 years!) with my husband, daughter, dog, 2 cats, and many fish. When I’m not dreaming about waves, you can find me teaching teachers and building my next eco business.
